"MY baby Alice"

Do what I say, Mom... do exactly what I say. Lay baby Alice "right here" on this blanket, on the couch, on my bed. It's my baby Alice afterall. Oh, the girls are both changing so much, so fast. Amelia is just adding to her vocabulary by the second and man-o-man does she love to chit chat. She says "c'mon sister" and invites Ali to do whatever it is she's doing at the time, or to go with her to her room for instance. Or for a drive in the car to Poppa & Dama's house. Or sometimes she's going to hockey. She also has been talking to herself quite a bit, and her imagination is getting to be quite active. She often plays two sides of a conversation. Watching from a distance can be extremely entertaining. She seriously blows my mind at least once per day. Once per hour, even. She's started saying "scuse me" when she burps. When Ali is laying on the floor trying her little heart out to roll over, big sis is there encouraging her like crazy. "you can do it, go, go, go!" when she doesn't quite make it, Mia says "oh, so close!" "good job, baby alice!" It is just so awesome and adorable how much these gals love each other. Miss Mia sure loves her baby sister, that's obvious. All the hugs and kisses and attention she gives her... and that extra sweet little voice she pulls out when she's talking to Ali. But what is truly amazing to see is how much Ali loves her big sister. Oh, her eyes - actually her whole being - light up when she sees Mia. She coos and gurgles and giggles and squeals in delight and response to her sister. I think they will be the best of friends. Ali has lots of new moves, too! She's really discovered her hands, and she's getting really good at grabbing stuff. Her favorite new thing to grab onto: Mia and/or Mommy's hair! Ouch! She's been grabbing her feet a lot, and her ears, too. Sometimes she gets the top rim of her ear lobe kind of turned inside out. It makes her look like a little Spock. She's becoming quite vocal, too! She really just wants to be in on the action. She's alert and so darn cute. She hasn't mastered rolling over, I think it's more of a "whoops! how did I do that?" kind of scenario when it happens. She tries and tries though, if given the opportunity. She loves her tummy time, and sitting in both the Exersaucer (she's even done a complete 360 all by herself!) and the Bumbo chair, and she is getting very good with head control. She's very strong. She tries to stand up on your lap and then if you jump her a little bit she laughs and laughs. Cute!
We had a busy weekend - we got to hang out with Madison, Matt & Trace on Friday night, and then brunch with Aunnie & Kenny on Saturday. Sunday Nat, Cole and I shopped for bridesmaids' dresses for Nat's wedding. It was a very fun day!
