Clapping, Waving, and Crawling, oh my!

Once again it's been too long since the last time I posted. Time has been flying by and it seems like we've been so busy! I think the problem is that I don't get as much computer time now that I can't just plop Alice anywhere and go to town...
Let's see. I have been a total slacker in picture uploading to my laptop, so this post will have no photos. (I know only the brave and obligated read on from here... that's ok.) Pictures will post as soon as I get the chance to get them from the camera onto the computer and find the time to sit and upload them to the site :)
Ali is moving around like it's nothin' to her. Just a few short days ago it seems she was a blob, you know? It's crazy. Now she's moving and she's little miss personality and she can really really communicate with you and be involved with her surroundings. She still mostly scoots, but she's up on all fours and able to move that way. Mia always preferred the scoot, too! It's really easy with the hard wood floors, it's fast-you just kindof slide along-and truth be told, crawling hurts your knees! She's very adventurous, scooting from room to room (trying to keep up with her sister, I imagine)! She tries to pull herself up on everything and has had some nasty head bonks because of it. The lower kitchen drawers are of particular interest. Near finger smash misses make my heart skip a beat. Oh well, it's a return to the era of bumps and bruises... though I'm quite certain Mia hasn't completely outgrown that yet. Or maybe she just takes after her mom-clumsy. (Poor thing!) Ali also claps now and waves. Waving is my absolute favorite, it's just so precious. She's eating all sorts of good stuff too, and even had real banana in chunks. She liked squishing it more than eating it, but that's ok. We have re-discovered the Gerber sweet potato puff snacks... both the girls are madly in love with them and can eat through a canister a day (with a spill or two for Maggie Mae!) if I let them. I try not to, but most of the time I just give in. They pretty much have no nutritional value but what the heck? I guess they do take after their mom in that way, I LOVE to snack!
Amelia is growing like a weed. She has gone from baby to big kid overnight. She talks a mile a minute, and her speech is getting to be so clear and understandable. She knows everything, you know, and wants to make sure she tells you all about it. If I don't answer her *right* away when she asks me something or starts talking to me, she changes her tone to this sweet higher pitched and calls me "sweetheart." "Sweetheart, listen Mia." "Whatcha doing, sweetheart?" She loves loves loves to sing, and sings to herself and her sister. We sing in the car... we sing all the time. And she dances. She's got some moves. Ali's got a little rhythm, too. :)
Here's where we're at with Mia's many phases of "yes"...
dup (my favorite!), da (like a little Swede), back to dup (yeah! she brought back the dup!), mmm-hmmm (usually with a little head nod), and now it comes out either "lesssss" with an l sound and an exaggerated sssss at the end, or "nes" with an n sound. She continues to crack me up.
Hope to get the pictures posted soon-maybe this morning. But seeing as this post has taken me two days to write and get up on the site, I wouldn't hold my breath ;)
