A LOT to Cover

It's been a busy couple weeks. Not this past weekend, but the weekend before, I had Miss Natalie's bachelorette party. It was a BLAST, to say the least. I made the mistake of telling Mia I was going to "a party for Natalie, for her wedding!" I thought she'd be cool with that because she is so excited about all things Nat, Jay and wedding. She was NOT cool with it, however. In fact, she was pissed because she thought I was going to Natalie's wedding without her. :( OMG, I would NEVER do that to ya, kid. OK?!?! Chill out. Once she (kindof) understood that I wasn't going to the wedding without her, she was just fine. I got dolled up. I'm talking shaved legs, fully-blown dry hair, makeup, the works. Then, we met at the St. Paul Hotel for drinks and gifts. It was a great group-so much fun-but small enough we could all kindof hang together. Which was awesome. We had dinner at Marx Wine Bar in Stillwater - it was fabulous. Then we hit up Whitey's, did a few shots (I SO don't need to do shots anymore-yuck!) and ended up dancing all night at the Freight House. Rock Stars, for sure - see for yourselves (this isn't quite the whole group)...
Closed down the joint, then Nat, Nic, Nat's sister Emily, and I stayed at the St. Paul Hotel and had brunch the next morning. Found out Pizza Luce delivers until 3 am on the weekend. Score. Seriously one of the most fun nights out. YAY for Nat's wedding!! I can't believe it's like right around the corner, and I can not wait. Neither can Mia. She keeps telling me she's going to "boogie down all night" whenever we talk about it. Which I think is absolutely hysterical, so I say, "you are? you're going to boogie down all night? that sounds like FUN! Natalie & Jay's wedding is going to be so much fun..." and then she tells me, "yes, Mia dance, Mia dance Will and Owen. So that's her plan folks... she can't wait for Nat & Jay's wedding so she can boogie down all night with her boys. We're in so much trouble with that one.

Last week we ran around gathering up gifts for wedding showers and 1st birthday parties, and hit the gym nearly every day. The girls are getting much better about going to kidstuff at the gym-Amelia no longer sobs and carries-on when I leave, which is a huge relief. That was rotten.

Thursday, BDama and I took the girls back to the Children's Museum. It was awesome. We saw Clifford the Big Red Dog again - just as much fun as last time. Also, Mia painted her own face and made a tissue paper/pipe cleaner flower art project. You have never seen so much glue on one half sheet of paper, let me tell ya. But she did an awesome job. And she was very sad when we had to wash her face off before bed, she liked her face paint.

Ali can pull herself into the car, get on the Lightning McQueen bus, and climb up onto the chair. The other day, she pulled herself head first into the car, turned right-side up, climbed onto the seat, out the back window, onto the bench in the entryway. I know we're in the era of bumps and bruises, but my goodness! Danger, Will Robinson. Danger. She's my silly, noisy, crazy explorer monkey.

This past Sunday was Mother's Day & Uncle Bri's birthday!! We had a lovely brunch at BDama's and then hung out with Dan & LeAnne in the evening. You know it's a great day when you get to see BOTH PoppaDamas. :)
This week we had a little early bday party for dad, so we could give him his gift. He started working out over lunch at the Eagan Y, so we wanted him to have some tunes, too. We got him an iPod. It's black and very cool. I wouldn't make it though my workout without mine, I think it's essential at the gym.
Tomorrow we get to celebrate with Aunnie (and Mia now, much to my shagrin, says either 'auntie' with the T, or 'Kristen' which is even worse!) AUNNIE, I just loved that. Anyway, it's Aunnie's last day of finals today - so tomorrow we party.

Saturday is one gigantic party-day, too! I have a wedding shower for Natalie. :) JD is taking Mia & Ali to our friend Gavin's 1st birthday party at 11, and then Dylan's 1st bday party at 3! Brave Daddy, going it alone.

Neither of the girls is quiet for long these days. Ali just loves to hear herself make noise, and Miss Mia is a little chatterbox. I think she learns like a thousand new words per day, and every time she talks, it's more and more clear what she's saying. I can't believe the stuff she comes up with. She's amazing. She sings non-stop to herself in the car. She's been doing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star," "The ABCs," "The Wheels on the Bus," "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes" and "Happy Birthday" a lot lately. But she's also partial to "Rain, Rain, Go Away," the Dora theme song, and "Hot and Cold" (a pop song by Katy Perry that we've been loving to dance to lately!).
