The Other Amelia
There's a 5 yr. old girl across the cul de sac named Amelia who loves to come over and play. It's SUPER CUTE - she comes to the door, and asks if Amelia can come out and play. It's so cute, in fact, that I even say yes (apparently) when it's 7:30 pm, I'm in the middle of feeding Ali, and Mia should be winding down for the night... ahem. JD was at rollerhockey, whatchya gonna do?? This is the third time she's come knocking on the door looking for Mia. It's so amazing to me that she's not even two and she already has a neighborhood playmate! The other Amelia informed me tonight that even though she knows that she can call Amelia "Mia" she doesn't want to because she likes that they have the same name. Again, SUPER CUTE. She came over and "helped" JD put together the Little Tikes car on Sunday, and she told us all about how she likes sports because she's good at them. Apparently her mom is signing her up for t-ball, gymnastics, the YMCA, and other stuff... she talks quite a bit, and I've come to realize that it doesn't much matter if anyone is actually listening or not. She's pretty fun, though - Mia gets so excited when she comes to the door. I think it's because she knows she gets to go outside, but she really likes to play with other kids, too! She tries to always hold the other Amelia's hand, and she runs and skips and shows off as much as possible. The other Amelia's dad was telling me that there are 16 kids just on our street - and most are 10 or younger, and another neighbor is pregnant and due in September, so Mia & Ali will have buddies. That's cool.
