OK, so since dad set up the table and chairs in Mia's room we've been having non-stop tea parties and "snack time." You must sit a certain way at the table, use the proper utensils, only drink your tea or eat your snack when instructed to, and basically just follow any number of sometimes tedious directions from the boss, Miss Mia. Even Ali. It's cute and fun and special and all that crap, but at the same time, how long can you sit on a tiny chair with your legs as under the table as they'll go drinking air tea and eating a fake snack with a spoon, fork, or whichever utensil Mia dedicates as yours. Mia had a little flu-like bug Thursday night, so we hung low Friday (even though she seemed fine). JD played poker that night, so us girls hung out, had some tea (of course!) and stayed up way-too-late! Saturday morning we headed for Emma Krumbee's Apple Orchard in Belle Plaine with Matt, Trace & Madison. The morning was off to a rocky start seeing as I forgot the spare outfit and Ali's blowout was of emergency status. There was no salvaging any of what she was wearing. SO she had to go naked in a blanket with a hat in the bjorn and be inside my coat-which makes for a tight fit! And then the girls had some fun, but we didn't get to do nearly all of the things we wanted to. They had pony rides, which they loved... and they danced to some rockin' music... and they climbed the big hay pile... oh, did I mention that I left my camera turned on inside my camera bag, so I had no battery. Awesome. M&T are going to send some pictures hopefully I can post those later. Anyway, after that we were pretty much at melt-down city, so we decided to eat. But, the restaurant had over an hour wait... so, we had to leave the orchard (without doing the hayride, or picking apples or pumpkins) and go to Subway. Not that many options in Belle Plaine ;) So, I wish we could go back and have more time, and do more-but it was still very fun. Saturday evening the girls went with Dama and Poppa so we could have "date night." We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - I mean 5 hours kid-free, as Mia would say "Come on," - picked up Ali around 10 and let Mia spend the night! Sunday morning we met the Dahl's at Fitz's for brunch for Dewey & Janice's 61st wedding anniversary. Then home for a quiet Sunday of football, hanging out and playing. JD had to spend his time out in the yard, but they're making progress there, so it's good.
